Established in 1984, the firm continues to focus on the principles of its founding member, Charles W. Hebel, Jr.

Richard V. Hornung – Managing Partner

As the managing partner of Hebel & Hornung, P.S.C., Richard V. Hornung has been responsible for the firm’s guidance and administration for well over two decades. Mr. Hornung has been instrumental in positioning Hebel & Hornung, P.S.C. to compete with large regional law firms, while at the same time offering a “small firm sensitivity” to clients’ needs, unmatched in the Louisville area. Mr. Hornung continues to emphasize that efficient, personal and prompt service is the way to achieve client satisfaction.

In addition, Mr. Hornung has spearheaded the firm’s civil litigation practice for the past thirty-five years, while at the same time expanding the firm’s excellent reputation in the areas of residential and commercial real estate transactions, condominium and subdivision associations, and corporate and business organizations.

Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Mr. Hornung graduated from the University of Louisville School of Law in and is admitted to practice in Kentucky and Missouri. He is a member of the Louisville and Kentucky Bar Associations. He is also an approved mediator for the Greater Louisville Association of Realtors.

William A. Merrifield – Attorney at Law Associate

William A. Merrifield is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Bellarmine University, and received his Juris Doctorate from the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville in 2007. He is licensed to practice in Kentucky and Indiana and is a member of both the Louisville and Kentucky Bar Associations, Indiana Bar Association, and the Kentucky Chapter of Community Associations Institute. 

William (Billy) Merrifield focuses his practice in the areas of civil litigation, community associations, real estate transactions, probate, and estate planning. Mr. Merrifield volunteers his time by coaching mock trials with experience coaching at both the undergraduate and law school level.

Andrew R. Hornung – Attorney at Law Associate

Andrew Hornung was born in Louisville, Kentucky where he attended Bellarmine University and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 2015. He received his Juris Doctorate from the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville in 2018. Andrew is licensed to practice in Kentucky and is a member of both the Louisville and Kentucky Bar Associations.

Andrew focuses his practice in the areas of civil litigation, community associations, real estate transactions, probate, and estate planning.
